We Treat our Caregiver, Nursing and Office Teams like they are Family.

At WFC, our operating philosophy is to “let family members be family again while we provide the personal care.”

We also appreciate our professional staff and the caregivers whom we entrust to provide care for our clients. Since we opened our doors four years ago, we have the same operating values for our Caregiver, Nursing and Office Teams: they are our family members and we strive to provide a nurturing environment for them to foster their careers.

WFC is locally & independently owned, offering compelling attributes:

  • faster decision making,
  • local problem solving,
  • nimbler turnaround,
  • access to more creative home care solutions.

The company has experienced high growth since inception through the strengths of our professional operation, 10+ nursing and office staff members, and an expanding pool of 180+ caregivers.

WFC offers a Professional Environment where Careers Flourish.

As we grow, career development opportunities present themselves for Office Staff, Nurses, and Caregivers and we feel fortunate to provide a haven for skill sets to thrive. WFC provides in-house training protocols which allow our capable employees to pursue an upward career path.

WFC offers fulfilling work in a supportive work environment. We pride ourselves on offering an industry leading, comprehensive rewards package that contains compensation, benefits, recognition, training and development programs.

At the heart of Westchester Family Care is our unmatched care, both for clients and for staff / caregivers:

Our NY Certified HHA caregivers are intensely vetted, surpassing NYS criteria. Screening includes 2–4 weeks prior to employment:

  • background checks,
  • medical exam,
  • drug testing,
  • rigorous training simulating real life situations.

Oversight of the Caregivers is in-depth and continuous. Training is ongoing.

A registered Nurse provides an in-home assessment & creates and continuously reviews a customized care plan.

We know every Caregiver thoroughly & match the right caregiver to client; able to dispatch within a 24-hour period from initial call.

Our exceptional care reduces readmission rates to hospitals & rehab facilities.

Every client and personal situation is different, requiring an individual customized solution & understanding that peace of mind is critical.

Our Caregivers’ and Nurses’ most important credential is, by far, that they are caring, compassionate people who enjoy helping others.

WFC is a Destination for Home Care Professionals

Here are three examples of home care professionals who have made WFC their career home.

Christina Farr From HHA Caregiver to HR Support, Compliance & Recruitment

Christina Farr was among the first Home Health Aides working with WFC at the launch of our agency. Christina also worked with other Home Care agencies.

Christina had been interested in leveraging her Caregiver experience to work in HR at a Home Care agency. When another agency offered, she moved into a full time HR support role with that firm. She kept in touch with WFC and, as we grew, she showed interest in the similar HR support roles at WFC.

We are grateful that Christina has returned, now as part of Melanie de Villier’s HR team. There, she has several responsibilities, including working as an Office and HR Assistant on the day to day office tasks as well as recruitment and HR compliance.

Ashley Bourne – From Companion to HHA Caregiver to Registered Nurse

Ashely Bourne began her home care profession working as a Companion to clients with plans to attend Nursing School. She did this work initially at a different agency but had not been Certified as a Home Health Aide.

Ashley was part of one of our original sponsored HHA Classes at Big Apple Training in White Plains, prior to the launch of our own training center in Katonah.

Ashley began work at WFC as an HHA Caregiver.  She appreciated the flexibility of hours, the spirit of the staff and the benefit that shifts could be arranged around her schedule.  This allowed her to continue with her Nursing School education along with her Caregiver work.

We are happy to report that Ashley has completed Nursing School and her New York State Boards and is now a licensed NYS RN and part of our Nursing Team.

Catherine Lanza – From Hospital LPN, Caregiver to WFC Nursing Team to Director of Business Development

Catherine Lanza arrived at WFC two years ago with a unique skill set. Her experience working as an LPN at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and other hospitals was a valuable capability when clients need the care of a licensed medical professional.

She also took on the challenge of multitasking as part of the WFC Nursing Team by as a staff liaison between Caregivers, Client and their other Medical Professionals.

We are excited to announce that Catherine has been promoted to Director of Business Development where she can use the benefit of her WFC and other work experiences to seek new relationships in the community to bring clients to WFC.
