WFC Job Fairs Are Back … In-Person!
Attention Home Health Aide candidates: Westchester Family Care’s In-Person Job Fairs Are Back, and we’re hosting them bi-monthly.
WFC held a Job Fair / Open House in January 2023 at our newly opened Mamaroneck Training Location – our first in-person Job Fair since December 2019, just before the pandemic.
During COVID, we used Zoom to host our Job Fairs, Training Sessions, and other events. While grateful that the WFC community could access our communications online, nothing will replace the benefits of holding these events in person.
The January 2023 Job Fair / Open House was open for seven hours, allowing candidates to stop by when their schedules permitted. The event leaders, John Palma, and Keisha Terry made an on-the-spot decision to make the Job Fair more of an open forum, enabling participants to ask specific questions less formally.
Relative to Zoom, the in-person format is a more flexible and productive format where we can adapt discussions to the specific interests of multiple groups attending throughout the day. We gained insights into who caregivers are, what they expect from WFC, and their perceptions of how WFC differs from the agencies where they currently work.
Plus, caregiver candidates were able to see the great new space at our Mamaroneck Training Location. We encouraged them to return for our classes and tell their family and friends.
The January Job Fair / Open House led to multiple hires and encouraged us to host this event every other month. Check our website and social media for scheduled Job Fairs to come!
