Welcome, Edythe Parker!
WFC is pleased to welcome Edythe Parker to our team. Edythe joined us in May 2022 as Home Care Coordinator and, with her WFC has gained a highly experienced, and healthcare-savvy professional.
As Home Care Scheduling, Edythe coordinates finding the right caregiver that will be most compatible with the client’s Plan of Care developed by the nursing team. She believes that HHAs have different working styles and that assessing each caregiver’s specific experience is vital to match the client’s circumstances and needs.
“Let’s say client is bedbound … it takes a certain type of caregiver who’s already worked with clients in that condition to make the match just right.”
Edythe’s background and credentials are tailor-made for her current WFC scheduling supervisory role. She holds an Associate’s degree in HealthCare Management, which she earned by attending school at night and holding two professional positions. Family and education have been key drivers in her professional development.
Always On the Job
It’s an understatement to describe Edythe as a highly motivated self-starter. She has been both a tireless worker and a dedicated mother. In her first five years as a healthcare professional, she did double duty as a CNA working in a hospital and as an HHA at a home care agency. At the agency, she switched exclusively to scheduling and recruitment compliance.
“I liked communicating with clients and finding the right caregiver for the right client.”
She spent the next eight years at a Westchester home care agency as a CNA and HHA. During those eight years, she also worked part-time as a Registered Medical Assistant at a pediatric office.
Edyth subsequently moved onto an adult care facility. First, she was their Healthcare Supervisor in charge of scheduling, caregiver supervision, payroll, in-services, and facilities management. She then became the Medication Director, responsible for running the medication room, communicating with MDs, and the daily operations of drug disbursement.
